Flower Policy
Barbecuing, pop up tents, and ice chests are not allowed at the cemetery.
All flowers will be removed every Tuesday during mowing season (between February and November, weather permitting). Do not set back your items on the grounds before 3:00 PM. Flowers placed during the following holidays will be left for two weeks: New Year's Day, Valentine's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
The district reserves the right to remove any item they feel may endanger the public, the staff, the grounds or our equipment.
The following (but not limited to this list) are not permitted on graves of loved ones:
- GLASS
- ALCOHOL
- FLAMMABLE ITEMS
- FLOWERPOTS
- ROCKS
- METAL
- BANNERS
- STATUES
- TOYS
- GLOBES
- SHELLS
- FOOD
- CANS
- JUGS
- KNICKKNACKS
- METAL STAKES
- NOTHING OVER 18 INCHES TALL
- PIN WHEELS, WINDMILLS OR WIND CHIMES
- FENCING OR ITEMS RESEMBLING A FENCE
All items placed on the grounds that are in violation will be removed immediately and discarded. Only four (4) solar lights allowed on a grave. Crosses are to be under 18 inches and must be decorated. Flowers will be removed if not placed in flower vases furnished by the district. Artificial flowers that become dirty or unsightly will be removed.
Selma Cemetery District, nor any of its employees will be responsible for anything of a movable nature that may be lost, stolen, or misplaced, this includes flower vases.
